Family and friends!!!!!

I am back in Gainesville, Georgia at our home base after 2 weeks in North Carolina! We leave for Cambodia on the 15th!! We are incredibly excited. Ministry in North Carolina has been so good and we have been so blessed! Here is a little of what our two weeks looked like:

  • raking leaves and deep cleaning at the Black Mountain foster care organization

  • working in a community garden

  • help in day care center

  • cleaning and yard work at Valley Hope Church

  • Deep cleaning at a summer camp called Camp Ridgecrest

  • Worked with Black Mountain foster care’s age out program by deep cleaning one of their independent living houses

  • preparing food at local food pantry

  • Black Mountain home for children fall festival fundraiser event

It was an incredible 2 weeks!

One thing my squad discussed in North Carolina was the “in-between God”. As we go through the ups and downs of life, we have seasons when we feel closer to God and seasons when we may feel abandoned by Him. We discussed the need to remember that God is with us in the “in-between”. In the Bible, Abraham and Sarah were promised a son, yet they had to wait for this promise to be fulfilled. AND God was WITH them in that in-between time.

In the same way, the time between when the Isrealites were brought out of Egypt and the time they arrived in the promised land, God was with them.

Today, I often hear people talk about the “camp high”, a good youth group or worship session, or the encouraging sermon on Sunday morning. Then people go on with their lives as if God is not present in every moment.

My encouragement to you today:

If you are in an in-between season right now, waiting to feel close to God again. Know that God is still with you. He did not leave. Keep pressing into Him even if you don’t see Him working immediately.
